Rubha nan Gall means 'Stranger's Point' in Gaelic. The lighthouse was built by David and Thomas Stevenson in 1857 becoming automated in 1960. I have a fascination for lighthouses, especially the stories surrounding the lighthouse keepers who manned them and their families.
